Thanks for stepping by!!
This is a wonderful collection of Christmas books. Some I don’t have in our school library and I’m seeking copies. Thanks for enriching me and my students.
Thanks a million! The biggest stimulation for writing this blog is knowing that readers like yourself find it useful! Abebooks.com is a good place to find any kind of book if out of print. All the best to you and your students!
Soo beautiful ♡
Thanks a lot Christina!
I used to read a version of this to my kids. This one has the most exquisite illustrations. Thank you for a special Christmas memory.
Thank you Alison. I presume you’re referring to “The Night Before Christmas” illustrated by Robert Ingpen. I agree these are exquisite!
How did you get a copy of the Jolly Christmas Postman? I thought it was out of print?
Hi Margot! All books in the Advent reviews and Giveaway are from my own library. Have had the Jolly Postman for a while, it must have been still in print when we got it. If I want anything out of print I usually get it on abebooks.com. Can take a while to hunt down a new copy there but I am equally happy with ‘very good’ second hand. Thanks for your interest!
I was disappointed that this Picture book competition is 2018 not 2019!
The book collection prizes sound great and I know of many friends that would appreciated some lovely Australian Children’s books about Christmas for Christmas. I knew of the ‘ A Bush Christmas’ story but didn’t realise it was written as poetry. I’ve heard of CJ Dennis but didn’t know he was so popular in his time. The other books sound great too.
Thanks for your comment. Promise to run the advent reviews and prizes again this year. In the spirit of Christmas giving we would be happy to post you any book from those reviewed last year ? If interested please get in touch through natalia@kidsbookexplorer.com. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
